THE MARIPOSA LILY ROOM

The spacious room can accommodate up to a party of three! Breathtaking sunset views are enhanced by the elegant hand-carved American antiques. The private bath includes a tub to soak away your troubles! The queen sized bed has down comforters and there is a sitting area that has a sofa that can be made into a bed for a third person. Bathrobes are furnished.












There is a game alcove in the hallway that is shared by the three rooms. A refrigerator is stocked with complimentary soft drinks. A coffee machine is available for early risers.

Of all my B&B experiences, Poppy Hill rises to the top, far and beyond. We got lost on mountain roads and Mary Ellen waited up for us. What a dear. The next morning was like waking in a tree house filled with songbirds, graced by a tale-filled breakfast downstairs in a delightful screened patio with a vacationing German couple, also visiting Yosemite for day trips. Proprietor Mary Ellen greeted us in the evening and in the morning with a smile that made us feel like we were going to grandma’s house all over again.

We will be back soon to Poppy Hill! The only downside to this well maintained and immaculate old two story home is that it is hard to find…and no doubt why it remains a true jewel among the wildflowers of Mariposa, gateway to Yosemite. Hats off to Mary Ellen, queen of presentation, queen of style and grace; and, of course, queen of the poppies.
